What's the matter with us - an accident is no longer just an accident, somebody has to pay. We don't have to be responsible anymore. If, for example, as I heard this morning, someone trips over a tree stump where the tree has been chopped down by the council say - this person was told to sue the council. Wouldn't it be better if that person watched where he was going and took responsibility for his own actions. I hate to see what is going on in schools due to health and safety. Again I heard that in one school the children weren't allowed to run in the playground in case they fell over. Isn't that how we learn by making mistakes? I know some "accidents" can be tragic and you'll never eradicate these but we do need a bit of balance and be prepared to accept accidents for what they are.
Anyone tried knitting a scarf with Katia Big Snow "Lux". It's gorgeous. It only takes one ball which costs £11.95, cast on 8 stitches on 8mm needles and knit garter stitch until you run out of yarn. Would make a lovely Christmas present! The colour ways are also gorgeous.
